Your Fault London Has Great Chemistry and a Terrible Plot

I thought the sequel would fix what broke me…but it did not care.
I watched Your Fault London the day it dropped because I have no chill and zero ability to avoid spoilers on my own timeline.
Going in, I had a theory. My Fault London worked because it had everything: the racing, the danger, a literal kidnapping plot, and somehow still made room for Nick and Noah to be unbearably hot at each other in every scene. I figured the sequel would keep that balance and smooth out the rough edges from the source material ( talking about the OG Mia Culpa here ).
What I got was the same toxic spiral, now wearing an Oxford scarf.
By the credits, this is where I landed. The chemistry between Asha Banks and Matthew Broome is still an 11 out of 10, no notes, no complaints. The story wrapped around them is a different beast entirely, and not the good kind. I went in hopeful. I came out exactly where every messy second movie in this genre leaves you, annoyed but unable to look away.

What’s This About?
Nick and Noah are still together, still hiding it from his dad William, and now dealing with distance since Noah’s off at Oxford and Nick’s grinding through a bigger role at the family company, Lester Enterprises.
Noah meets a new neighbor named Briar and a classmate named Michael who clearly wants more than notes on aerothermal engineering. Nick gets a sharp new colleague named Sophia, who may just be the kind of coworker you should never golf with alone.
Everyone gets jealous of everyone else. A handful of car races happen so the movie can remind you what franchise you’re watching.
What Worked in Your Fault London
Every scene where Nick and Noah exist in the same room. The eye contact alone could power a small city.
He drops to his knees during arguments like it’s contractual, and it works every single time anyway. There’s a scene at his apartment that made me set my phone down and watch with my mouth open, which is the highest compliment I have for a romance movie.
I also liked the side plot with Lion more than expected. He’s Nick’s best friend, he owns a boxing gym, he’s in debt to a guy from the first movie, and watching him propose to his girlfriend Jenna with his grandma’s ring gave me one scene that felt sweet rather than stressful.
What Didn’t Work
The stakes shrank while the drama got louder.
The first movie had Noah’s actual father trying to kill her. Here, the big threat is an old enemy named Ronnie running a scheme from prison, somehow with a working phone, and it gets resolved in under 15 minutes.
The rest of the runtime is Nick and Noah being insecure at each other on a loop. He’s jealous of Michael. She’s jealous of Sophia. Nobody talks to anybody like an adult, and sure, that’s the genre, but the first movie earned its drama with a real plot underneath it. This one sits in the angst and calls it a story.
And Briar. She has a history with Nick that nobody mentions until it’s convenient; she lies to him about Noah and Michael for no real reason, and her whole arc reads like the writers needed a villain and grabbed whoever was standing closest to the camera.
My Final Verdict
The acting and chemistry are doing all the heavy lifting, and they’re strong enough to drag the score up from where the plot alone would leave it.
If you want racing and real danger like the first movie, you won’t find much here. If you want two gorgeous people lying to each other for two hours straight, this delivers in full.
Tell me I’m not the only one who wanted to throw something at Briar by the second act!!
