I need to be upfront about something: this might be the most biased review I’ve ever written. I love Taylor Swift. Like, genuinely obsessed with her music, her storytelling, her entire artistic journey. So when Disney+ dropped Taylor Swift The End of an Era, a six-part docuseries about the Eras Tour, I knew I was going to eat it up.
And I loved every single second of it.

This docuseries gave me everything I needed after the tour

Getting the Access We’ve Been Craving
The End of an Era gives you the behind-the-scenes glimpse that every Swiftie has been dying for since the tour started. We’re talking pre-show routines, stage preparations, makeup sessions, rehearsals, crew efforts, and all those intimate moments that usually stay hidden.
The docuseries premiered on Disney+ starting December 12th, dropping two episodes weekly through the end of the month. That release schedule was perfect because it gave us something to look forward to during the holidays and kept the conversation going week after week.
Watching it has felt like the best possible way to fill the void the tour left behind.
The Heartwarming Moments Hit Different
What got me most were those small, genuine moments that showed Taylor as a real person rather than this untouchable superstar. Seeing her FaceTime with Travis Kelce while he’s supporting her from under the stage? That’s the kind of wholesome content that makes you smile like an idiot.
The footage of her family, especially Andrea Swift, brought tears to my eyes multiple times.
There’s something so special about watching the people who’ve been there from the beginning witness this massive cultural moment.
And then there are the emotional gut punches.

Watching Taylor cry about what happened at one of her shows, dealing with the weight of everything, processing the Vienna cancellations and the Southport tragedy. Those moments reminded you how much pressure she carries and how deeply she cares about her fans.
The Creative Process Fascinates Me
One of my favorite aspects was seeing how decisions got made.

The color-coded setlist board planning sessions, the discussions about which songs to include from each era, and the choreography rehearsals where they’re perfecting every detail.

Getting insight into why certain albums got more representation than others was fascinating. The creative choices that went into adding new eras to the show, incorporating surprise songs, and planning those mashups that broke the internet every night.
The studio sessions showing her working on new material gave us glimpses of her artistic process that we rarely see. Watching her at the piano, working through lyrics and melodies, reminded you why she’s one of the greatest songwriters of our generation.
The Crew Gets Their Moment in Taylor Swift The End of an Era
I appreciated how much attention the docuseries gave to the massive crew that made this tour possible.

The dancers, the band, the tech people, the costume team working on those lightning-fast outfit changes.

Seeing Taylor acknowledge their work and show genuine appreciation for everyone involved felt really authentic. The scene where she addresses the crew emotionally about what they’ve accomplished together? Cue the waterworks.
These people worked tirelessly for months to create the most ambitious tour in history, and finally seeing their perspectives and experiences made the whole thing feel even more monumental.
Travis Kelce's Content Was Everything
I’m not even going to pretend I wasn’t here for all the Travis content. Watching him support her from backstage, seeing their relationship play out during this massive tour, and witnessing how they navigate their careers while building something together.

There’s footage of him at rehearsals, backstage at Chiefs games, being shown on tour screens, those sweet moments of connection between shows.

For anyone who’s been invested in their relationship, this docuseries delivered.
It’s also kind of beautiful watching Taylor experience love and support after everything she’s been through. You can see how much lighter she seems, how that stability gives her strength.

Why This Matters So Much
For Swifties, The End of an Era is the perfect holiday gift.
It’s our chance to relive the magic, understand what went into creating those unforgettable nights, and say goodbye to this chapter properly.
The tour was a cultural phenomenon that brought millions of people together. Having this documentation of what happened behind the curtain makes the whole experience feel complete.

Is it a perfectly objective documentary? Absolutely not. It’s curated and protective of Taylor’s image. But honestly, I don’t care. I got to see the human side of an artist I love during the biggest tour of her career. That’s all I wanted.
Should You Watch This Love Letter?
If you’re a Swiftie, you’ve probably already binged all six episodes twice. If you went to the Eras Tour, this will make you relive those magical nights. If you missed it, this is your chance to understand what made this tour so special.
Even if you’re not a Taylor Swift superfan, the docuseries offers insight into what goes into mounting the biggest tour in history. The logistics alone are fascinating.
The End of an Era gave me closure I didn’t know I needed. Watching those final bows, seeing Taylor process the end of this journey, and celebrating everything they accomplished together felt like the perfect ending.
Now excuse me while I go cry and listen to the entire discography again.
Fellow Swifties, what were your favorite moments from the docuseries? Did you ugly cry as much as I did? Let me know in the comments!
